Artist's Statement
My work focuses on narrative through the format of comics. The character’s playful and cartoonish appearance gives the story an overall humorous tone, however, many images will have a darker backstory behind them. My content focuses on anthropomorphized characters using detail and color to achieve a sense of depth and produce a scene that you feel you're apart of. While I look to the language and style of cartoons like SpongeBob SquarePants, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Futurama to inform my work, I also look to other artists as a source of influence, such as Takashi Murakami’s Superflat work and Francisco Goya’s Black Paintings.
